At least 16 people have been killed and seven injured after a plane crashed in Russia’s Tatarstan region, according to the country's emergencies ministry.
The plane carrying 23 people crashed around 9.30 local time while flying over Tatarstan, which is a republic within Russia. 7 people were pulled alive out of the debris and have been admitted to a hospital.

According to local news reports, 21 out of the 23 passengers were parachute divers.
