Axar Patel's dream run in Test cricket continued as he bamboozled New Zealand on Day 3 of the Kanpur Test with his 5th Test 5-wicket-haul. New Zealand was on top of India as their openers put together a 151-run stand but Axar's figures of 5/62 helped India bounce back from a vulnerable position.
Interestingly, Ajinkya Rahane didn't give Axar Patel much overs on Day 2 as compared to Ashwin and Jadeja but the Gujarat Lad proved it was a mistake. Interestingly, it took Axar just 7 innings to claim 5 Test fifers, joint 2nd-fewest innings in the history of cricket. Australia's Rodney Hogg tops that list who achieved the feat in 6 innings. Axar now also has joint-most 5-wicket hauls with New Zealand's Kyle Jamieson in this cycle of the World Test Championship.
