The armoured units of the Indian and Chinese armies started withdrawing from north and south banks of the frozen Pangong Tso on Wednesday morning, after nearly 10 ten months of eyeball to eyeball confrontation on the LAC. But it's the pace of the Chinese withdrawal that has surprised the Indian Army. The Hindustan Times has reported that by Thursday, PLA had withdrawn more 200 main battle tanks from the south banks of Pangong Tso. The PLA has also positioned no less than 100 heavy vehicles to ferry its troops from fingers on north banks to Srijap sector, east of Finger 8. As of Thursday evening, the disengagement in east Ladakh was proceeding to the satisfaction of both parties, the report added quoting officials.
