US President Donald Trump who is currently infected with the novel coronavirus has refused to participate in the second presidential debate after the Debate Commission decided to hold it virtually. Issuing a statement soon after the announcement by the Commission, Trump campaign called the decision 'pathetic' and accused the panel of trying to protect Trump's Democratic challenger Joe Biden.
The statement further went on to say that the US President would have posted several Covid negative tests before the debate and there was no need to hold the event virtually. Calling the decision 'unilateral' and 'a sad excuse to bail out Biden', the Trump campaign has decided to hold a rally instead of participating in the virtual debate.
