3,2,1... Iconic ball drops in Times Square to welcome 2021

People in New York City welcomed 2021 with the traditional ball drop in Times Square. This year, however, the massive crowds that dot the iconic spot were absent due to the pandemic. The site was also fenced by the police, to prevent large gatherings. Small groups of people waved balloons and cheered as they welcomed the new year!
