Days after the V Narayansamy-led govt in Puducherry fell, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the former Chief Minister and the Congress party. While addressing a rally in the poll-bound union territory, the PM said that Puducherry deserves a govt whose high command is its people and not a few leaders sitting in Delhi. He also accused the Congress of destroying all sectors of governance in Puducherry.

"In 2016, Puducherry didn't get a people's govt. They got a govt that was busy serving the Congress high command in Delhi, their priorities were different. Your former CM was an expert in lifting the slippers of his top party leaders," the Prime Minister said.
