Speaking at a rally in Tripura's Agartala on Sunday, TMC's Abhishek Banerjee said that the end of the "BJP's misrule" in the state is "certain". He also referred to Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb as 'Big Flop Deb'.

National general secretary of TMC and nephew of Bengal CM, Abhishek Banerjee said his party will ‘finish both the Left and right in Tripura and that the state will see a repeat of what happened in Bengal.

Further, Abhiskek compared the ruling BJP to a ‘virus’ and said it’s only ‘vaccine is Mamata Banerjee’

He also announced that the party will contest in all seats of civic polls in Tripura next month.

Earlier, the local police in Agartala declined to give the permission given to the TMC to hold this rally due to Covid-19. This was the fourth time the rally was blocked by the state. It was only on Saturday night that the Tripura High Court gave the party the required permission after an urgent case was filed.
