Raising alarm for BJP in Tripura, its MLA from Surma, Ashish Das, has announced his exit from the party with high voltage dramatics.

Das took a dip in the Ganga, shaved his head and performed rituals at Kolkata’s Kalighat Temple on Tuesday as an ‘act of penance’ for working with the saffron party.

Giving up his MLAship, Das said that he will keep his tonsured head shaved till BJP is uprooted in 2023.

Unhappy with BJP’s progress in the north-eastern state, the erstwhile BJP leader has met TMC vice president Abhishek Banerjee and is likely to join Trinamool Congress. He has also warned that more BJP leaders from the state will jump the ship in the coming days.
