Bengali actor and TMC MP Mimi Chakraborty has said that she became a victim of a fraud Covid vaccination drive in Kolkata and took a shot that turned out to be fake.
The MP said that she took a Covishield shot at a camp organised for vaccination of transgenders in Kolkata by a man who pretended to be an IAS officer.
Chakraborty said that she got suspicious after she didn't get any confirmation from CoWIN platform after her vaccination.

The police arrested the accused after the MP's complaint.
The fake vaccination camp is now turning into a bigger investigation amid questions about whether the jabs given to hundreds of people were genuine. Around 250 people were vaccinated at the camp, reports said.
Chakraborty said she took the Covid shot to encourage people to vaccinate themselves and help check the spread of the virus.
