With global media attention and questions being raised on the rights of women and children under the Taliban, several women from Afghanistan have spoken out, demanding their freedom.
Afghanistan's popular female pop star Aryana Sayeed, who left the country, in a US plane few days ago, has now sent a strong message to U.S President Joe Biden.
In an Instagram post, Aryana told Biden that the U.S must stop funding Pakistan, and impose sanctions on the country, as they produce terrorists and send them to Afghanistan in the name of Al-Qaeda and Taliban. Aryana shared a series of photos of Afghan citizens and said the displaced have nowhere to go and are left with no food or shelter.
In her earlier Instagram post on August 19, she shared a photo of herself on the flight and told fans that she had reached Doha, was safe and sound, and was waiting for her flight to Istanbul.
Aryana Sayeed is one of the most popular Afghan singers and TV personalities. She sings in Persian and Pashto. The 34-year-old was a judge in the Afghan version of The Voice.
Aryana Sayeed, has been campaigning against the Taliban through her music. In 2015, she came under spotlight for singing a song without wearing a hijab.
She has won several awards as well such as the Afghan Icon Award and the 2017 Best Female Artist of Afghanistan.
