Alarming haul: Over 100 gelatin sticks, 350 detonators seized from train

In a haul that has set alarm bells ringing, over 100 gelatin sticks and 350 detonators have been seized from a passenger at the Kozhikode railway station in Kerala on Friday. The explosives were found on a Chennai man travelling Chennai-Mangaluru Superfast Express. The accused has been taken into custody. The quantity of the explosive material has led to concern among the authorities. Reports said that the police are probing if the explosives were being taken for works in quarries or were being transported for terror operations or other nefarious activities.
