Amid constant infighting in its Punjab unit, Congress has made it clear that Amarinder Singh is the Captain of Team Congress.
AICC in-charge of Punjab Harish Rawat on Wednesday said that the party will contest next year's Assembly polls under the CM's leadership.
Newly appointed state party president Navjot Singh Sidhu and the chief minister have been at loggerheads all along.

The latest flashpoint came when the CM chided Sidhu's advisors asking them to refrain from making statements on sensitive national and security issues. This came after two of the newly appointed advisors of Sidhu made controversial remarks on Pakistan and Kashmir.
CM's rebuke reignited 'remove Captain' calls from the Sidhu with 23 MLAs seeking his removal from the post on Tuesday.
Amarinder Singh's loyalists have, meanwhile, demanded action against Sidhu's aides who set off the controversy.
