It was a star-studded night in New York as the American Music Awards 2021 returned on Sunday. Hosted by Cardi B, the awards show featured performances from BTS with Coldplay, Olivia Rodrigo, and many others, while Diplo is on DJ duty for the event.

K-pop group BTS took home the three big awards of the night - 'Artist of the Year', 'Favorite pop duo or group' and 'Favorite pop song' for 'Butter'.
18-year-old teen sensation Olivia Rodrigo won the award for the 'Best New Artist of the year. The awards for the favourite female pop artist went to Taylor Swift, while Ed Sheeran bagged the award for the favourite male pop artist.

The award for the favourite male R&B artist went to The Weeknd, and Doja Cat was judged the favourite female R&B artist.
The favourite trending song of the year was Megan Thee Stallion's 'Body', however the rapper surprised fans with an announcement hours before the event, that she would be skipping the ceremony due to a personal commitment. She also won the award for the Favourite hip-hop album for 'Good News'.
