Amitabh Bachchan turns 79: Ajay Devgn to Chiranjeevi, celebs share sweet memories to wish Big B

Bollywood's very own 'Shahenshah',  Amitabh Bachchan is celebrating his 79th birthday today in style. The actor greeted thousands of his fans outside his Mumbai residence Jalsa, thanking them for his wishes. Clad in a white kurta pajama, Big B came outside for a few minutes and greeted them with folded hands.

Big B, who is also an avid social media user also shared a collage of his photos on Instagram and wrote, 'walking into the 80th'. However, his daughter Shweta Bachchan was quick to correct his age. She dropped a comment that read, '79th with a heart emoji'.

Big B's co-stars and friends from the film industry have also wished the actor on his special day. Megastar Chiranjeevi shared a throwback photo with Big B from the sets of the Telugu film, 'Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy'. Calling Big B his brother and guru, Chiranjeevi penned a heartfelt birthday wish to the legend.

Ajay Devgn shared a picture with Big B and wrote, 'looking at you through a different lens taught me what being a true artiste is'.

Shatrughan Sinha too shared throwback photos with Big B and wrote, 'Happy birthday to a very dear friend and a national icon'. The two veteran actors have starred in many films together, which include 1979 film 'Kala Pathhar', 'Shaan' in 1980 and many others.

Emraan Hashmi shared a photo of himself with Amitabh Bachchan from his ‘Chehre’ days and penned a sweet birthday note for the megastar.

Even at 79, Amitabh Bachchan is showing no sign of slowing down, as he has a bunch of projects under his belt. He will be next seen in 'Jhund', 'Brahmāstra', 'Mayday', 'Good Bye' among others.
