The induction of Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett, and others into the Hall of Fame is known to millions around the world, but very few know that Indian-born Nav Bhatia was also honoured at the Basketball Hall of Fame despite having not played a single NBA game in his life.

Bhatia flew to Canada in 1984 and worked as a car salesman. His hardwork paid off as he bought out the dealership later on. He soon became a self-made millionaire, which gave him the financial flexibility to pursue his other passion, basketball.

Toronto Raptors were named the NBA’s 28th franchise via league expansion in 1995 and Nav Bhatia purchased season tickets and showed up to every game. His passion didn't go unnoticed as after years of Nav Bhatia’s loyalty, he was called to the center court during halftime of a game and was given the official title of a superfan.

Bhatia was honoured at the unveiling of the James Goldstein Superfan Gallery in Springfield, Massachusetts on May 16. His display includes the first turban in the hall of fame, as well as a replica of his championship ring, a superfan bobble head, custom superfan shoes, his courtside seat and the original Raptors jersey he was presented in 1998 that declared Bhatia a superfan. He was also presented with a Hall of Fame class of 2020 ring at the ceremony.
