According to a new study published in the journal JAMA Pediatrics, anxiety and depression during and after pregnancy, could impact the development of the child through adolescence.
The study reveals that depression or anxiety in the mother, could result in language deficits for the child and also impact cognitive and motor development during the early years.
The results are particularly concerning in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, where several people across the globe are dealing with mental health issues.
