Apple has announced the launch of its 2020 MacBook Air that is powered by the company’s new custom chipset, called the M1.
Apple claims that it will now offer 3.5x faster CPU performance than the previous generation, up to 5x faster graphics performance and 9x faster machine learning workloads.
The base model includes a seven-core GPU and 256GB of storage, as well as 8GB of memory.
Apple says users will get the longest battery life ever on a MacBook Air, with 15 hours of wireless web browsing and 18 hours of video playback.
There’s no fan inside, so it should run noiselessly as well.
Other updates include an improved image signal processor for the webcam, support for P3 wide colour, USB 4/Thunderbolt ports, and WiFi 6.
The new MacBook Air starts from ₹92,900 and will be available for purchase in India from November 17.
