Music Maestro AR Rahman who is gearing up for the release of his debut production '99 songs' opened up on why he hates the term 'Bollywood'.

Stating that each production should have a voice and nothing should be generic, Rahman told a leading daily that we are already disrespecting our filmmakers and amazing workers by calling everything Bollywood, which is in itself a rip-off of Hollywood.

Rahman added that he wants to show respect to all the talented people who take risks to make a film successful and that is one of the reasons why he campaigned against the word as he feels it's condescending.
