Even as #FreeAryanKhan was a trend on social media all day, the magistrate court in Mumbai rejected the bail plea of Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan, his friend Arbaaz Merchant, and Munmun Dhamecha.

A court on Thursday had sent Aryan Khan and seven other accused to 14 days in judicial custody, in connection with the alleged seizure of banned drugs from a cruise ship off the Mumbai coast.

The court sent them into judicial custody even as the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) sought an extension of remand till October 11.

Earlier on Friday, Aryan Khan and the other accused were taken to Mumbai's JJ Hospital for a medical test, following which all accused were taken to the Arthur Road jail. Aryan will be lodged at Arthur Road Jail in the quarantine cell for the next 3-5 days as per Covid protocol.

Aryan Khan, Munmun Dhamecha and Arbaaz Merchant were arrested by the NCB on October 3 following a raid on a Goa-bound ship, while the other five were arrested the next day.
