England's Ashes tour to Australia is getting bad to worse as Joe Root's men were docked 3 more World Test Championship points for a slow over-rate in the 1st Test at the Gabba.

Earlier, it was announced that England would be docked 5 WTC points, one for each over they were found to initially have fallen short by. However, it has since emerged they were 8 overs short, and will therefore lose three additional points, according to the ICC. The 3 Lions are now left with just 6 points from 5 Tests in the new World Test Championship points table and are reeling at the 7th spot.

England was hammered in the 1st Test vs Australia as the hosts lead the Ashes series 1-0.
