India's prolific spinner Ravichandran Ashwin became the second-fastest bowler in Tests to claim 300 wickets at home after Sri Lankan great Muttiah Muralitharan. Ashwin has been India's lead spinner since his debut in Test cricket and the 81-match veteran continued to fix batters with his flight and carrom ball.
In the recently-concluded Test series, Ashwin became the third-highest wicket-taker for India after he crossed Harbhajan's 417-wicket mark.
Overall, Ashwin has 427 scalps in 81 matches with 30 five-wicket and seven 10-wicket hauls. The off-spinner has an impressive record at home, having 300 wickets at an average of 21.70 in 49 matches.

For many, Ashwin is a bowler who exploits home conditions but the Chennai-born spinner has played 32 away Tests and picked 127 wickets at an average of 30.55.
Ashwin has registered his name in the list of all-time greats such as Kapil Dev and Anil Kumble with his performances. He is just seven wickets away from Kapil Dev's 434.
