Former union minister and BJP veteran Yashwant Sinha on Saturday joined the Trinamool Congress ahead of the West Bengal Assembly elections. 83-year-old former senior BJP leader, who was Finance Minister under Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, had quit his party in 2018. Sinha has been a bitter critic of PM Modi and his policies since being sidelined in 2014. His joining is being seen as a prize catch for Mamata Banerjee's party that has seen an exodus of leaders to the BJP.
