Australian Open: Serena Williams withdraws, Djokovic's name on the entry list

Tennis ace Serena Williams will not be participating in the upcoming Australian Open which is set to start on Jan 17th next year due to medical reasons, the Grand Slam organisers informed. 

Calling it a difficult decision, former World No. 1 who has 23 Grand Slams to her name in a statement said, 'I am not where I need to be physically to compete'. She went on to call Melbourne her favorite city and added that while she will miss this year's event but she is excited to return and compete at her highest level.

Meanwhile, Australian Open released their entry list that also features Tennis World No. 1 Novak Djokovic's name who will fight for his 10th Australian Open title. However, it is still unclear if the Serbian star is fully vaccinated.
