Australian watchdog: Google misled users on data collection

An Australian consumer watchdog has said that tech giant Google has misled some consumers about the personal location data collected via their Android devices. The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission says it has sought declarations and penalties from Google. The case reportedly alleges that Google collected, stored and used location data by turning on the location history setting on some devices by default.
