Bangladesh gives emergency nod to Chinese vaccine as Serum fails to deliver doses

Just two days after Bangaldesh gave emergency nod to Russia's covid vaccine Sputnik V, the govt has now allowed emergency use of China's covid vaccine Sinopharm. The move comes as export obligation for India made covid vaccine was not fulfilled. 

Bangladesh purchased 30 million doses of India based Serum produced Covishield  and under an agreement, received seven million doses in two consignments until February while the third consignment, which was expected in March, is yet to reach.

Bangladesh has reported total fatalities of 11,393.
