Barcelona sack coach Ronald Koeman after Rayo Vallecano defeat

Barcelona's head coach Ronald Koeman was relieved from his duties on Wednesday after a short service of 14 months, confirmed the Spanish club. Club's president Joan Laporta informed Koeman after the team's 1-0 defeat to Rayo Vallecano, read Barca's official statement.

Barcelona, one of the top La Liga teams has consistently performed poorly. With just 15 points from 10 games, Barca is languishing at the 9th position in the points table. The Vallecano defeat was the Spanish team's 3rd loss in 4 games. The Dutchman will say goodbye to the squad on Thursday, Barcelona announced in their statement.
