IPL 2021, 2 new IPL teams: Following requests from various interested parties, BCCI has decided to further extend the date for purchasing the Invitation to Tender (ITT) document to own and operate 2 new IPL teams till October 20, 2021.

The ITT will be available to interested parties on receipt of payment of the non-refundable tender fee of ₹10 lakh plus GST. The IPL Governing Council had previously issued the ITT document on August 31. Subsequently, the BCCI had extended the date for purchasing the ITT document till October 10, 2021. It has however been extended further now.

The lucrative league which currently has 8 teams will turn into a 10-team competition from 2022. The Indian board reserves the right to cancel or amend the bidding process at any stage without providing any reason.
