While the coronavirus pandemic may have cut down our dining out days in 2020, foodies did not shy away from ordering away their favourite foods.
Indians remained loyal to their long-term favourite biryani as the dish became the topmost ordered food item on Swiggy. For every veg biryani, there were six chicken biryanis ordered on the app as per Swiggy's annual StatEATistics report.
Other favourites were masala dosa, paneer butter masala, chicken fried rice and garlic breadsticks.
Orders for beverages like different teas and cappuccinos also witnessed an all-time high in 2020. As most celebrations went indoors, Indians ordered over 6.5 lakh birthday cakes after lockdown.
