Days after infamously laying off over 900 employees via a Zoom call, Vishal Garg, the CEO of mortgage company Better.com has apologized for his manner of handling layoffs.
Garg has reportedly written a letter to his current employees in which he conveyed his apology and said that he realized that the way he communicated the news of layoffs made a difficult situation worse.
Garg added that he owns the decision to do the layoffs, but in communicating it, he blundered the execution and while doing so, he embarrassed them too.
The video of Garg laying off about 9% of the company's employees had gone viral earlier this week on the internet which set off reactions on the social media with many people calling out the CEO's action.
