Massive traffic jam was seen at Gurugram-Delhi border on Monday morning as vehicles entering the national capital were being checked by police in the wake of Bharat Bandh called by farmer organisations.

Office goers had a harrowing time as traffic came to a standstill on the Gurugram highway. Videos showed long winding jams as cars crawled past the police checkposts.

Farmers have called for a day-long bandh to mark one year of the three controversial farm laws. Protesters blocked Delhi borders and several key highways at many places in Punjab and Haryana.

Farmers from different parts of the country, especially Punjab, Haryana and western Uttar Pradesh, have been protesting at Delhi borders since November last year, demanding the repeal of the three contentious farm laws that they fear would do away with the Minimum Support Price system, leaving them at the mercy of big corporations.
