Bhavina Patel claimed a historic win, becoming the first Indian to enter the Paralympic table tennis final. She narrowly managed to defeat China’s Miao Zhang in the Semi-final. Patel will now clash with world number one Ying Zhou fighting for gold on Sunday.
Patel participated in the Paralympics for the first time and lost the first game in a fierce competition. However, she recovered well and won the next two games. In the fourth game, when the game entered the deciding round, Zhang showed her class that she had not bragged about Patel. In the decisive fifth game, Patel took a time out after which she plucked up the win.
Taking to Twitter, PM Modi congratulated Patel for playing 'excellently' and then added that the entire nation is praying for her success
