The news that two new teams will be added to the Indian Premier League from the 2022 edition, is public knowledge, but reports doing the rounds, now suggest Bollywood power couple Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone may be looking to be part of the bidding.
Reports say, Deepika and Ranveer's name has also been included among the list of prospective owners of the new IPL teams.

Deepika already has a sports background, being the daughter of former badminton player Prakash Padukone. She was recently spotted playing Badminton with shuttler PV Sindhu.
Ranveer is known for his partnership with English Premier League, and is the current brand ambassador of the world’s most popular basketball league - NBA - in India.

Bollywood and IPL have a long history. Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla co-own Kolkata Knight Riders, while Preity Zinta also has stakes in Punjab Kings. Shilpa Shetty has also been associated with Rajasthan Royals in the past. Shilpa was former owner and then was forced to sell her stake after the spot-fixing scandal.
