On the occasion of World Bamboo Day, which is commemorated on the 18th of September, Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb launched bamboo honey bottles and bamboo shoot cookies.
The products will create employment opportunities in the state and promote indigenous products.
The innovation is the brainchild of Dr. Abhinav Kant, the chief of the Bamboo and Cane Development Institute. Bamboo cookies, they claim, have a greater nutritional value than normal cookies and are considered to be low in sugar and fat.
