BTS earns RIAJ Platinum certificates for 'Permission To Dance' and 'DNA' in Japan

BTS has received two more platinum titles in Japan!

BTS’s “Permission to Dance” and “DNA” were included in the list of works certified to be platinum announced by the Recording Industry Association of Japan on October 25.

Both “Permission to Dance” and “DNA” exceeded a total of 100 million streams, earning them the platinum title. “Permission to Dance” was released on July 9, 2021 and “DNA” was released in September 2017.

According to the RIAJ’s certification thresholds, songs are platinum at 100 million streams.

Previously, in July 2021 the RIAJ announced that BTS’s new Japanese compilation album “BTS, THE BEST” had been awarded an official million certification. It was the first album by any Korean artist to earn a million certification in 10 years.
