Apple will produce a higher model of the series, iPhone 15 Plus in India, reported Economic Times, India has already started the manufacture of iPhone15 that was launched on Tuesday. As per the report, the mobile phones will be made at Foxconn’s manufacturing plant near Chennai.
The company will import the plus models until the production rolls out. The production in the country would allow Apple to sell made-in-India iPhones.

But will this impact the prices?
Industry executives feel that though the iPhone15 and iPhone15 Plus models would be assembled in India, the components required would be imported. Apple's Manufacturers that include Foxconn, Pegatron and Wistron would pay high import taxes. Hence the prices of the newly launched series might not come down.
As per News18 the basic customs duty is 20% and then there is a surcharge of 2.5%. Over and above that, an iPhone attracts 18% GST. The final price also includes distribution costs and retailers’ margins.
In India, the iPhone 15 Plus follows suit with a 128GB model priced at Rs 89,900, a 256GB variant for Rs 99,900, and the 512GB option comes in at Rs 1,19,900
