Ahead of the Karnataka elections, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced central assistance of Rs. 5,300 crores for the Upper Bhadra Project in drought-prone central regions of Karnataka.
The assistance will provide sustainable micro-irrigation and filling up of service tanks for drinking water.
Responding to the announcement, BJP MP from Bengaluru South Tejasvi Surya thanked said the project will be a game changer for the state.
"I want to thank PM Modi and FM Sitharaman for the announcement of the over Rs 5,000 cr irrigation project for the Upper Bhadra region of Karnataka. This project will be a game changer for the state," Surya told ANI
