Ram temple inauguration: Ayodhya gears up for boost in tourism economy

Ram Mandir Ayodhya Inauguration: Ayodhya is all set to inaugurate the Ram Mandir next month. The city is situated on the banks of the Sarayu River and is gearing up to host tourists from across the country and the globe. Amid the ongoing preparations, locals in the city are delighted over new avenues of income from donations received from tourists coming from India and abroad in exchange for the hospitality offered to them.

Ayodhya Economy Boost

Mythological buildings and temples are being renovated in Ayodhya ahead of the inauguration on 22nd January when Prime Minister Narendra Modi will install Lord Ram's idol in the temple. As per The Economic Times, there is a continuous surge in the tourists too.

A local told the publication that tourists who have been visiting the city for the past 8 months give donations as per their wish and residents have also started applying sandalwood tilak to welcome tourists, with the name of Lord Ram depicted in it. With the donations, people are receiving additional sources of income. 

"We have been applying tilaks on the foreheads of tourists for the last 8 months. The name of Lord Ram is depicted in the tilaks. Tourists give donations based on their wishes. Earlier, we used to work as city guides. We brief the tourists on the main temples in the city. There is a lot of development work going on in the city", a local told The Economic Times.

The Yogi Adityanath government is looking to present to the world Navya (New) Ayodhya's cultural and spiritual glory in its pristine form through the inauguration ceremony which will be overlooked by Prime Minister Narendra Modi
