Imagine the vehicles in Science-fiction movies that are cars one minute and transforms into a bike with just one push of button, coming to life. Seems impossible?
Now, Hero Motocorp's Surge has broken the glass ceiling by unveiling Surge S32 which is a unique three-wheeler electric vehicle that can be converted into an electric two-wheeler scooter in just 3 minutes. As per the company, the unique three-wheeler cum scooter has been produced for self-employed people, providing them with the flexibility of both an electric rickshaw and an electric scooter within the same vehicle.
The S32 is a conventional 3 wheeler electric cargo vehicle or rickshaw, complete with a front passenger cabin equipped with essentials like windscreen, headlights, turn indicators, and windscreen wipers. The vehicle lacks doors for now, however, there is a possibility that Surge will offer removable and zippered soft doors for weather protection.

The vehicle can then be converted into a scooter with a button push, lifting the whidshield section vertically. The 3 wheelers' cabin also transforms deploying a spring-loaded double-stand mechanism. The freed 3 wheeler has its own LED headlights, turn indicators, speedo, and switchgear.
The battery power is also split between the 3 wheeler and the scooter. While the 3 wheeler has a 10 kW engine, the scooter is equipped with a 3 kW engine.
The 3 wheeler is fitted with an 11 kWh battery, while the scooter has a 3.5 kWh battery. The 3 wheeler has a set top speed of 50 km/h while the scooter is slightly faster with 60 km/h. The 3 wheeler can also carry an impressive 500 kg.
