Marking a significant step in its India expansion strategy, Google has leased 649,000 square feet of office space in Bengaluru's Whitefield, according to a report by ET.
The lease agreement includes a three-year lock-in period with a monthly rental rate of 62 rupees per square foot, totaling over Four crore two lakh rupees per month.

This expansion follows Google's recent layoffs of core employees in its US offices, with some positions being relocated to India.
Google is also increasing its presence in India by entering the manufacturing sector.
The company plans to produce smartphones at a Foxconn facility in Tamil Nadu and start drone manufacturing in the state. Pixel smartphone production in India is set to begin with the Pixel 8 model.
