Local retailers across various sectors in Maharashtra are witnessing a significant uptick in business ahead of the 10-day Ganesh Chaturthi festival, which will begin on September 19 and conclude on September 28.
At Kohinoor Electronics in Dadar, footfalls have surged by 25-30% compared to previous weeks, with sales conversion rates as high as 70-80%. Shoppers are flocking to purchase everything from small kitchen appliances to large durable items like televisions, refrigerators, and washing machines, drawn by attractive consumer offers and discounts.
Similarly, neighbouring garment, flower, and general merchandise stores in Dadar market are experiencing a boom in business, with an expected increase of 35-40% during the festival, as reported by Financial Express.
says Nilesh Gupta, director at Vijay Sales says, “At a broader level, the Dusshera-Diwali season is expected to be good this year and regional festivals such as Ganesh Chathurthi will feed into this overall festive demand,” Gupta says. “We are expecting at least a 15-20% year-on-year growth during the festive season this year as consumer sentiment improves,”
