Maruti Suzuki has announced the launch of the all-new Celerio CNG and is priced at Rs 6.58 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The most fuel-efficient hatchback is upping it's game. Maruti Suzuki claims a fuel efficiency of 35.60km/kg for the new Celerio CNG – up from its predecessor's 30.47km/kg.
Maruti Suzuki Celerio CNG comes with a detuned 1.0-litre dual-jet engine with dual VVT (variable valve timing). This powerplant puts out 56 bhp with 82 Nm and can be had with a five-speed manual gearbox only. In comparison to this, Celerio petrol has 66 bhp with 89 Nm. This means that Celerio CNG is less powerful than its petrol-only counterpart though it costs Rs 95,000 more than the Celerio VXi petrol manual.
The Maruti Suzuki Celerio will see competition from the likes of the Hyundai Santro CNG (Rs 6.09 lakh-6.38 lakh, ex-showroom), and the upcoming Tata Tiago CNG.
