Wondering how placements at IITs shaping up this year? Here’s a quick update from IIT Bombay: only 75% of graduates, who opted for placements, secured jobs. Let’s break it down.
IIT Bombay, often hailed as India’s top tech institute, has just concluded its placements for the 2024 batch. And data reveals that the institute was unable to place all graduates who were seeking jobs this year.
But that’s not all. There’s also been a sharp drop in the lowest packages offered — from ₹6 lakh per annum last year to just ₹4 lakh per annum now. Ten students who were offered jobs at the lowest end of the spectrum accepted those positions.
However, it’s not all doom and gloom. There’s a silver lining too: the average annual package for the 2024 batch rose to 23.5 lakh rupees per annum – a 7.7 percent increase over last year.
