Indian startups have fired more than 12,000 employees this year as the pandemic boom starts to wane, according to Crunchbase, a platform that gathers data about private and public companies.

According to Crunchbase, startups, especially the ones who benefitted from a pandemic boom, are feeling the pressure as valuations have started to dip.

Companies like Ola, Blinkit, BYJU's, Vedantu, Mobile Premiere League, Furlanco and more have let go of nearly 12,000 employees so far this year.

India may see over 60,000 job losses in the startup eco-system this year as funding becomes scarce, according to reports.
