SBI server down; users complain about UPI, netbanking services outage

Customers of State Bank of India have complained that the server down and is not responding. The customers are facing issues with net banking and UPI in some cases and have taken the complaints to twitter.

One anguished customer even questioned if there was a cyber attack on the bank.

Dear @FinMinIndia @RBI, Servers of SBI are not functioning properly since 31st March. Today is the 4th day and the site/apps are completely down since the morning. Is this a cyber attack on the bank or just usual #achedin ? Need answers , consumers are taking huge losses.

One user complained that the bank server has been down for the past 2-3 days.

SBI UPI, and Netbanking has been down since last 2-3 days. I have my PPF account in SBI and want to invest an amount before 5th April to get maximum benefit. @TheOfficialSBI- Fix your technical issue before this date please. @RBI @nsitharamanoffc @FinMinIndia

Downdetector, a website that tracks outages globally also reported that SBI servers are having problems since 9.19 am, April 3. The website reported a similar issue with the bank on sunday. As per the user complaints in twitter, the server is down or services including net banking, UPI payments, and the official SBI app YONO are non-responsive. 

SBI had announced that the services of INB/YONO/UPI will not be available from 13:30 HRS to 16:45 HRS on 01.04.2023 due to annual closing activities as part of server maintenance.
