Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has welcomed Sam Altman's decision to return to OpenAI as CEO. He further went on to say that this move is the first essential step to build a more stable, well-informed, and effective governance in OpenAI.
Nadella in a post in X (formerly Twitter) has said that Sam Altman and Greg Brockman have key roles to play along with the OpenAI leadership team in ensuring that the company continues to thrive and build on its mission. He also emphasised on building upon the existing strong partnership shared between Microsoft and OpenAI.
Earlier Satya Nadella had offered Jobs to Sam Altman and others to lead Microsoft's new advanced AI research team. Altman had also confirmed that he would be joining Microsoft in the event of his firing from OpenAI.
Satya Nadella has been a strong support to Sam Altman, pushing the board to reinstate him as the CEO of OpenAI all through the ordeal.
OpenAI in a post revealed that Sam Altman will be returning to OpenAI as an in-principle agreement has been reached. It would announced a new interim board consisting of Bret Taylor (Chair), Larry Summers, and Adam D'Angelo.
In a post Sam Altman mentioned that He is excited to return to OpenAI with the new board and Satya Nadella's support.
