Jack Dorsey is no longer a board member at Twitter, this marks an end of a 'formal and executive' role for the co-founder with the app he founded in 2006.

Dorsey who has been a director since 2007  did not stand for reinstatement as he had declared in November he would be stepping down as he handed over CEO reigns to Parag Agrawal. Dorsey’s exit marks the first time in Twitter’s history that none of its co-founders is working at the company, or sitting on the board.

The microblogging site is facing extreme turmoil with a takeover from the world's richest man Elon Musk. Meanwhile Musk backer, Egon Durban, the co-Chief Executive Officer of private equity firm Silver Lake, failed to get enough votes for re-election to the board during the company’s annual shareholder meeting as well.
