New Year's eve saw a staggering number of orders placed on food delivery platform Zomato, revealed

In a post on X, Goyal said that the number of orders delivered on New year's eve 2023 was almost as much as the combined number of orders placed on New year's eve in the last six years. He also highlighted that customers tipped delivery partners a whopping ₹97 lakh.
Bengaluru was the city which saw the most events booked and the most tables reserved via Zomato.
Meanwhile, in Kolkata, a customer ordered a whopping 125 items in a single order.

At 8.06 pm, 8422 orders were placed, that's about 140 orders placed every second. And biryani remained one of the most ordered items.
Zomato’s quick delivery service Blinkit also hit several milestones including highest highest-ever orders in a day, orders per minute, in soft drinks, tonic water, and chips.
More than 3.2 lakh delivery partners were working on new year's eve across Zomato and Blinkit to meet the surge in demand.
