Can surmise that people have voted for TMC: Mamata hits back at Shah

Hours after Union home minister Amit Shah claimed that his party will win 26 of the 30 seats on which voting was held on Saturday, TMC chief Mamata Banerjee on Saturday said that "the people's verdict will be evident after votes are counted."

Without naming Shah, the West Bengal chief minister told a poll gathering in Chandipur constituency that since 84 per cent votes were polled, she can surmise that people have voted for her party.

Meanwhile, TMC MP Derek O'Brien wrote in a tweet that PM Narendra Modi and Amit Shah’s mind games won’t work.
