In a clear sign of Chinese army preparing for a long haul at the Ladakh flashpoint, its troops are lying a network of optical fibre cables south of Pangong Lake, news agency Reuters has reported. Quoting Indian govt officials, the report said that these cables, which would provide forward troops with secure lines of communication to bases in the rear, have recently been spotted to the south of Pangong Tso lake in Ladakh. The report further stated that there had been no significant withdrawals or reinforcements on either side since the foreign ministers of the two countries met last week.
