CM Stalin's first order: ₹ 4,000 Covid relief to ration card holders

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin hit the ground running on Friday. In the first decision after taking over as CM, Stalin announced a Covid pandemic relief of Rs 4,000 to each family in the state. The chief minister signed the order to provide the first instalment of Rs 2,000 in May itself at Rs 4,153 crore, covering over 2 crore ration card holders. Issuing his first set of orders after taking over as CM, Stalin also announced bringing Covid treatment in private hospitals under a government insurance scheme. Apart from these measures, the new CM also announced a cut in Aavin milk rate and free travel for women in state-run buses, all promises made by his DMK ahead of the Assembly elections.
